Preschool Graduation and Weekly Catch-up...

Last Friday Tyler graduated from preschool.

A mom from another class made this awesome cake, it looked like a rainbow inside as well, very cool.

All three of the classes from his school sang a few of their favorite songs from the year.

Then they each received a certificate, book and stuffed animal from Mrs. Suzanne.

Playing with their new Rex toys...
Then it was time to play in the park.
He's so ready to be a Kindergartner, and I'm ready to have everyone in one place next year.  It is sad that we are finishing this chapter, preschool is just fun.

On the nice day of last week, we took advantage and turned the sprinklers on, the boys thought it would be fun to run through.
Rainbow...

I'm really hoping after this cloudy day today, we can be done with the cold weather.

We also had another Birthday party over the weekend; off to the Effie Yeaw Nature Center.

Cody's preschool buddies, minus the Birthday girl, listening about turtles.

We went for a nature walk and learned more about the animals in our area.
Then cake, snacks, and presents with some catching up with the Momtourage.

Staff Appreciation Week...

What a busy week!  For Cody's school we had a staff appreciation week and my crazy mind decided to take it on!  Everyday we had a special treat in the staff mailboxes and a lunch on Friday.

Monday...
 Tuesday....
Yes, 4 dozen mini apple pies were made and handed out (6 left over)
It's cute and fun and very appreciated!

Take your favorite pie crust and stuff it into 1/2 pint jars
(After a bit of frustration, I went and bought crust)
Fill with about 1/4-1/3 a cup of your favorite filling...
Place a small pat of butter on top of your filling.
Then add a top if needed, being sure to vent with fork punctures or a small cut out.
From this point you can put lids on them and freeze them for later or bake them.
Place in a cold oven at 375* for 40-45 min until brown and bubbly.
(watch them the last 10-15 min so that don't get too dark, cover with foil if needed)
42 pies, tagged and ready for school.
 Wednesday...
 Wednesday was also the luncheon.
So along with making some chocolate cheesecake bars
I made this yummy pasta salad...
Flowers for the three retiring staff members...
 Simple and pretty...
Lunch from Togos and salads from parents...
Fresh squeezed lemonade, teas and water...
 Dessert, lots of chocolate!
 Thursday....
A bunch of different designs for the 42...
 Friday...
 Bagels from Safeway
(awesome deal and they sliced them!)
Cream cheese selection and strawberries from the patch...
Applesauce and tea...
 Juice for the morning!

So, yeah.  It's been a busy week!

This is our bare fridge at home after having to store things through out the week...

On top of this we're rounding out the year in preschool this week and teacher gifts were needed.  I had found this really cute tutorial for a different necklace, here.  But trying to find clear tiles or pendants was a larger task than they made it out to be.  So bottle caps it was...

2 more weeks of school and we are on summer vacation!  Hooray!

April's Block of the Month...

I would love to say I'm caught up on my blocks, but it's become my summer project!  March is still sitting in it's bag, although I did cut out the pieces the other night.  To be able to keep moving forward, April's block needed to be sewn so I can pick up May's on Saturday.

Celestial

I was happy with how this one turned out, it's the right size and most the corners matched up!

My summer project for this is to get all the accent blocks put together start working on the boarders as well, so come December I can put the last block on and start get it all put together.  I have most my fabric I need, just missing 1 1/2 yards of the white that I decided to replace.
