And we hit 6....

Oh my big boy, we made it to 6! You're such a good kid, even when you're being a turkey. You play well with others, sharing and just getting along. Everyone wants to be your friends and the girls get all goofy when you're around. Your smart and funny and I can't wait to see what else you will bring us. Happy Birthday Cody!

Tyler's School Picture...

We received class pictures today at school and I'm so happy with how they turned out. He did great, such an improvement from last year.

Okay, back to working on silent auction things for Cody's school. If you have anything to donate, let me know. ;)

Trike-A-Thon

Saturday finally arrived bringing Tyler's Trike-A-Thon with it. He's been asking about it for a couple of week now, especially after Thurs when they made their name plates for their rides.

Scooter all decorated and ready to ride.

The starting line, you can see his yellow helmet behind the boy in green.

One lap down, 16 to go!

Cody was a good big brother and kept cheering him on.

Towards the end, getting hot and tired.

All done! Quick picture of the group by Mrs. Suzanne's truck.

Juice and snacks for all the hard work.
The cool shirt he has on was also where they put the tally marks using fabric markers, right on their back. Every lap around they were marked at the start and at half way, so he had 35 marks!

Really fun event that raised money for a new bike trail, bikes and helmets for the school.

Safetyville and the Beautiful Spring!

Tuesday, Tyler's class took a trip to Safetyville, a miniature town that teaches them to rules of the road and how to be safe. (Hints the name.)

Waiting for our tour to start.

They have working stop lights and cross walks, just done in a smaller size.

Learning about railroads and how to safely cross the tracks.

Hanging out by the mini church.

At the fire station, watching a video on fire safety.

Practicing crossing the street.

Watching a video on wearing helmets in the mini capitol building.

They practiced how to crawl out of a smokey room, then Stop, Drop & Roll.
The kids seamed to have a fun time, even though a lot of it was over their heads just yet.

Something else we've been enjoying is the awesome spring weather that's come to town.
Tyler sending leaf rafts down the gutter stream.

The perfect 3 year old stance.

Cody helping Grandpa S. measure the front yard.

We are working on a plan to get our front yard in order. The "grass" that's growing now is extremely patchy and the rest is weeds. We have a lot of roots in the yard that have surfaced as well, making planting on top difficult. So the plan is to do a rock bed in the front corner, redo the sprinklers so they actually work, put down new top soil and seed. It's going to be a lot of work, but we're hopeful that once we get it right we can keep it nice, and not be "that" house anymore. So more to come there.

Oh and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Singing class...

Doing some more crafty: All about me...

Today was the last day of music class for Tyler, or singing class as he calls it. He has loved this class, lots of dancing and movement, instruments and play. Being the last day they sent them home with a couple of instruments they decorated and a goody bag full of fun.

His train whistle and clam-shell clapper that he colored. Then they added in a tambourine, sidewalk chalk, Frisbee, ball, bubbles, notebook and crayons. With that is the sheet that they sent home every week that the kids could color and to tell us parents what they had done in class.
They won't hold another session until fall and we're crossing our fingers it's not on a preschool day! Plus I can't complain about the 1 1/2 hours it gives me to breath.

Let's go fly a kite...

As the weather has done the last few weeks, one day it's rainy and the next it's warm and beautiful. Today has been the calm after the storm. After doing our weekly shopping, we took our lunch and kites off to the park. The boys got these Transformer kites for Christmas and have been itching to get them out.

Tyler getting ready to go. His kite has a good shape and really flew well.

Running = better flying kite

Cody getting ready. His kite seams to be a bit of a dud, he was able to get it in the air, but it didn't like to stay there.

They had a good time, and we'll be going back here again.

and another week goes by...

It's been a week of a lot of stuff, so bullet points are the way of the world today.

~ The start of the week, Sunday, came with them monthly meeting of my Momtourage. I love them all and it's so wonderful to catch up. We headed out to lunch at the Olive Garden after getting a quick tour of Ramona & Mike's new house. (Awesome, by the way) Soup, salad and lots of talking.

~ If you read the crafty side of things you'll know this, but it's getting to be party time, which means many things to be crafted and put together. Invitations were made, addressed and sent and the banner was made. Still need to decorate the goody bags, miscellaneous things that go inside, dye some shirts, and make the cake decorations. It will happen, I still have 3 1/2 weeks, enough time to procrastinate, panic, and get it done.

~ Oh, and I need to get things together for his Birthday Day celebration, spoiled is all I can say.

~ Went to the PTA board meeting Monday afternoon; excited, scared and ready to get in and get my hands dirty. Next year will be interesting!

~ The crafty bug hit and some pillows were covered, 2 more to do to finish the room, but it's a start. Hopefully this will kick start me to start on a certain set of tea towels for a certain Mom of mine.

~Wednesday I had the pleasure of dealing with our vision insurance. In general it's great, unless your like me and wear contacts all the time but desperately needed a new pair of glasses. The appointment points for contacts vs glasses are different, making it a huge PIA to get both done at one time. Things like paying someone $45 to grab a pair of contacts from the box and hand them to me to put in. Never mind the fact that they are the exact same brand and prescription I've worn for the last 3+ years. I asked if I could just buy a box from them and get my glasses paid for by the insurance, but that would have cost an additional $70 on top of the co-pays for my glasses and appointment. So I ended up going through insurance for my contacts and getting glasses at Walmart. It worked out to be a kinda better deal because I now have 3 boxes of contacts, that will only last for about 4 months before shelling out $30 a box for more, but still had to pay $80 for glasses. Frustrating.
The good thing being that Walmart told me my glasses would be ready around the 12th, they called today to say they were ready to be picked up. Much test driving of them going on this weekend.

~ I missed my workday at preschool on Thursday. It's not the first time I've done it this year. My head had it that I work next Tuesday, I come home and realize I don't have any dates written down until the 23rd. Crap. I thought it was a little funny when Ms. Suzanne was asking if I was okay when I came in to pick up Ty. Saying "nope, everything is fine!?!?" She says, "Oh that's good, did you know it was your work day?" Oops.

~ In missing said work day, I got in a great run! It's been an okay running week, the weather has been a little iffy, so only got in 2 of the 3 planned. Tomorrow is another run to finish out the week. Two more weeks of running for a set time before switching to miles mode. Eek!

~ Finally finished some wall hangings for the living room to hang over the TV. Hoping to get them hung this weekend. Pictures to come because words just don't do them justice. Slowly getting the house decorated. Cricut is doing wonders.

~ Thanks to all this running, Wii Active and following the Weight Watcher plan I'm down 10 lbs, okay .2 shy of it, but close enough. Whoo Hooo!

~ To round out our week, the boys headed off to the dentist this afternoon. They did awesome! We don't go to an actual pediatric office, but they do have TVs in the ceilings and that made it very easy to get them to sit in the big chair. They both had X-rays taken, holding still and following her directions to bit the thing. Tyler was a surprise, jumped right into the chair and opened like a little bird on command. So good! They both came out with clean bills of health, good reports back on our brushing skills, new cool toothbrushes and glider planes for doing the above mentioned awesome job.
Ty waiting for the Dentist to have a look after the hygienist cleaned his teeth, Cody zoned out to the movie playing.

~ I think we have a fairly low-key weekend ahead with some running, shopping and dinner at the IL's.

Hope you're caught up, cause I'm still spinning, but I think it's all there.
