Safetyville and the Beautiful Spring!

Tuesday, Tyler's class took a trip to Safetyville, a miniature town that teaches them to rules of the road and how to be safe. (Hints the name.)

Waiting for our tour to start.

They have working stop lights and cross walks, just done in a smaller size.

Learning about railroads and how to safely cross the tracks.

Hanging out by the mini church.

At the fire station, watching a video on fire safety.

Practicing crossing the street.

Watching a video on wearing helmets in the mini capitol building.

They practiced how to crawl out of a smokey room, then Stop, Drop & Roll.
The kids seamed to have a fun time, even though a lot of it was over their heads just yet.

Something else we've been enjoying is the awesome spring weather that's come to town.
Tyler sending leaf rafts down the gutter stream.

The perfect 3 year old stance.

Cody helping Grandpa S. measure the front yard.

We are working on a plan to get our front yard in order. The "grass" that's growing now is extremely patchy and the rest is weeds. We have a lot of roots in the yard that have surfaced as well, making planting on top difficult. So the plan is to do a rock bed in the front corner, redo the sprinklers so they actually work, put down new top soil and seed. It's going to be a lot of work, but we're hopeful that once we get it right we can keep it nice, and not be "that" house anymore. So more to come there.

Oh and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
