Crocker Art Museum

Every 2nd Tuesday, the Crocker has homeschooling days.  They usually have a theme, sometimes more elaborate than others, but usually an inexpensive way to go to the museum.  Today they had a simple, walk around and talk to the docents sheet; a good intro for our first trip there.
One of the sculptures in front of the entrance
They thought these pencil sketches of super heroes were cool.
This metal work was really neat, as you walked by, it had 3D qualities in the way it was polished.
Learning a bit about the Crocker family
The mansion is a beautiful piece of art in itself

Serious discussion, I'm sure...
Ty like the iron work in the fence.
Knit bombing, it's own art form
 Beautiful yard around the building.

Tyler had a good time, talking about the art and asking questions.
Cody wished we had left about 10 minutes after we arrived.

We'll have to space them out, but we'll have to try making it to another event.

Tyler's BMX Party

For a few months, I've seen an ad in the Folsom activity guide for their BMX and Skate Park.  Finally, Tyler and I went and checked it out one afternoon and decided it would make for a cool birthday party.  He was excited to have his friends along to ride and play.
The 1st hour was for just our party, making it so the little ones had free reign of the dirt bike track without worrying about the big guys.

There was a lot of this....

Ty switched his gear and headed over to the skate park for a bit.

 Tyler and Tyler, reunited!
 Oh yeah, we got this....

Sacramento Zoo....

The weather cooled down this weekend, making a perfect time to go to the zoo!
It's been a while since we've been, so even though we see a lot of the same animals, it's always a good time.  We were all very happy to shepnd the day with Grandma and Grandpa as well!
 Tyler loves these donations bins.
We took our zoo key along to hear about the different animals.

Seriously Mom, stop with the pictures.....

Tyler turns 6!

Tyler has had a pretty mellow start to his 6th year of life.  On his birthday we picked out donuts and juice for breakfast before school.

That evening, he went out to ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa.

Saturday night we had his family dinner.  He chose to have breakfast for dinner, his favorite, and root beer floats for dessert.
He was spoiled once again with presents!
Lots of LEGOS, which was pretty much all he wanted.

He was also given the skateboard he's been wanting for quite a while.
Then it was time to test it out.  I'm sure he'll have it all figured out pretty quickly.
