President's Vacation: Monster Mini Golf...

The boys' school district has decided to pack a couple of holidays and in-service days into one week, essentially giving them 2 spring breaks!

So to kick off our week long break, we took advantage of the rainy day and headed over to Monster Mini Golf for some fun.
We had a short wait for our golf time, so the boys played a game of air hockey...

 Golf time!

The boys had a great time and are really starting to be good mini golfers!
The black lights are fun as well as the monster tunes they play.

Saturday we went to the cheap theater and watched Tangled.  The boys have been wanting to see it and I'm glad we finally made it.
Sunday was busy with a Birthday party at Sunsplash/Golfland for laser tag and go-karts.  Then we rushed out to Cody's make-up basketball class.

Hoping to have some more fun adventures over the week.

Valentine's Day...

The boys woke up to this on the table.

Legos and a bag of treats, YAY!
Tyler was beyond excited to finally have a Pillow Pet to call his own....

He finally stopped to read his card and go through his bag.
Doggie traveled everywhere with us all day, and is continued to be attached to him constantly. So needless to say, it was a big hit!

Ty's class was having a party, so we brought Jell-O treats.
Also brought in strawberry cupcakes that they decorated...

 Ty's goody bag...
 Passing out his Valentine's...
Quite the party spread, they also had pizza!

Cody's class had a fun Valentine's day as well.  Most the worksheets done for the day had the theme, they made bags for their goodies, passed out Valentine's and had a special snack.  Being the little math geek that we love him to be, he was most excited about the math worksheet for the day, a full page of addition and subtraction problems.  According to him it was so fun!  We had some rain yesterday, so they had indoor recess at lunch time and instead of playing games, he went back to his desk and finished his sheet.  Then while the rest of the class had time to finish it later in the day, he spent his time writing the numbers, in order, past 200, because it was fun.  Weird kid....

We ended our evening with a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's, yum!

Funny Bunny...

Oh Ms. Bun.  We are having so much fun with you around.  You've turned me back into the crazy get-rid-of-the-cats lady, but it's all in fun.

We are LOVING having a pet.  She's starting to love on us a bit too.  I become her best friend when I have a treat in hand (dried apricots or bananas are her favorite), she runs to me and will let me get in a couple of pets before she snatches it and runs away.   She's been great with the boys, and they can walk up to her and give her pets without her running.

She's fun to watch when she's exploring around the yard, hopping in and out of the chairs or her planter box.

If she's really excited she do a couple of hot laps around the entire yard, you would think she was a small the dog by the way she moves.

Here's a few pics:
The look she normal gives me...
Quickly chills out once she realizes I'm not empty handed...
She's a bit picky when it comes to food, but I found a good seed mix for rabbits at the feed store, also able to add in some dried carrots and bananas making for a happy bunny!  Better yet, they are all in the bulk bins, so it keeps the cost down.

Week 4 of Gymnastics...

Ty is getting better at his skills each week, really fun to see.  He's not so sure about the new teacher though.

Cody's 3rd week of Basketball...

Cody's basketball clinic is going well.  He's learning the basic skills that will hopefully translate over to game time.
Dribbling....
 More defense work..
 "Shot!"
They are also learning how to move their feet, so running backwards....
 Concentration tongue....
As well as side to side and sprinting forward.

They finally had some shot practice towards the end of class, I think this is the one he made!

We have one week left, fingers crossed he will let them scrimmage so they can see how to put it all together.

Art Show at the Community Center...

Tyler's class was apart of Orangevale's Art Show, his class made special pictures that were hung up as well as performed some of their songs.
Getting ready to sing....
A video of their songs...
They were given ribbons for a job well done...
 Tyler's whale painting....
They have a room of different types of crafts and art medias for the kids to try.

Stamping cards...
Drawing and copying what they see....

They also worked with clay, making sculptures and drawing designs on flat pieces.

I do love that our community has these kinds of events, better yet, it was all free!

Week 3 of Gymnastics...

We started week three with a new teacher and picture day.  For all of the Byer's classes it was picture week, so Ty's class was up as well.   I'm curious if the photographer was able to get any good shots, because they kept telling him to show his teeth which gave him a weird look the whole time.

Here's a video of things they were doing....

They had a bit of an off day, but that happens.

Getting there...

Okay, so I think I have the last video edited and can finally sit down to update this darned thing!

Sorry for so much delay, look for a few new posts...
